SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

 

GFWC South Lake Junior Woman’s Club promotes and encourages continued education in the community by awarding an unspecified number of student applicants with up to a $500 scholarship for that application year, based on the funds raised throughout the year. 

 

  1. Submit the scholarship application above.

  2.  Applicant must be a South Lake County Resident.

  3.  This scholarship requires you to:

  • Provide a resume

  • Answer all essay questions

  • 2 letters of recommendations (teacher and/or community leader)

  • Submit 1 teacher recommendation form

4. This scholarship requires you to volunteer with SLJWC during at least ONE or TWO shifts at one of our designated mandatory fundraiser(s) for the year:

  • Pig on The Pond - October 13th - 15th, 2023

  • Light-Up Clermont - December 1st, 2023

  • Golf Tournament - March 2nd, 2024

Recipient must be accepted at an accredited Junior College, Community College, College, or University, in Florida. Scholarship funds will be released to the school after SLJWC receives a letter of acceptance from the accredited school and the recipient notifies the Scholarship Chairperson in writing of their intent to enroll in the upcoming Fall/Spring semester.

 

Funds for the recipient will be mailed directly to the schools Financial Aid Office with the instructions that they are to be used for expenses processed through their office for the recipient. If the scholarship recipient decides to attend another school, they must immediately notify the SLJWC Scholarship Chairperson so the funds may be transferred.​
